With the proliferation of unmanned aerial systems has come an equally dizzying array of methods to try and combat them. Among other answers, the Marines are experimenting with sophisticated targeting systems and a modification on the venerable 5.56 platform to give Marines in the field a fighting chance against death from above.

Unlike most other anti-drone weapons, this system is just as lethal against targets on the ground, although its reduced range and increased bulk make it somewhat less effective at landing a hit.
